Alfred “Hippy” Wayne Arrants

Alfred Wayne “Hippy” Arrants, 65, of Claysburg, passed away Wednesday December 6, 2023 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born April 5, 1958 in Washington D.C., son of the late Leslie Leroy and Eva Belle (Haire) Arrants. He married Sandy Hesley on February 10, 1989 in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Surviving is his wife of Claysburg, a brother Jimmy Arrants of North Carolina, step children Cher Chaney and Albert Hesley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Terry Arrants.

Alfred attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was employed as a painter at various places in Maryland and was also employed at Champion Homes, Claysburg.

He enjoyed playing pool and belonged to Leagues in Claysburg and Everett.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday December 11, 2023 at Claysburg Union Cemetery with Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
