Barry E. Luke, 70, of New Enterprise, passed away Friday July 7, 2023 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born October 14, 1952 in Altoona, son of the late Marion and G. Marie (Yohn) Luke. He married Robin (Rice) Pepple on August 21, 1998 in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Surviving is his wife, sons Brent Luke (Tracy) of Altoona, Eric Luke (Kimberly) of Fresno, CA and Andrew Pepple (Jamie) of New Enterprise, 9 grandchildren Cloud, Rain, Jayden, Skiler, Joshua, Jaren and Harper Luke and Greyson and Evangeline Pepple and a sister Gayle Madden of Duncansville.
Barry was a 1970 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1972 and the Air National Guard from 1972-1978. He retired as an electronics technician from FCI-Loretto in 2006 after 22 years of service and was previously employed at John P. Madden Boiler and Welding, Inc. Duncansville for many years.
Barry was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church-Leamersville Campus. He was also a member of the Southern Cove Fire Company and served as a Board Member.
Barry was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He was always willing to drop everything to help someone in need and had an enthusiasm for life. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandkids.
Friends will be received from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday July 12, 2023 and 10 until the 11:00 A.M. memorial service on Thursday July 13, 2023 at the Grace Fellowship Church – Leamersville Campus, 14 Brethren Lane, Duncansville, PA 16635 with Pastor Brant Leidy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Southern Cove Fire Company, 321 Chestnut Street, New Enterprise, PA 16664 or Cove Cause for Cancer, 343 Ponderosa Lane Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
