Bonita L. (Dodson) Wertz

Bonita L. (Dodson) Wertz, 73, of East Freedom, passed away on January 12, 2026, at home. She was born on November 6, 1952, in Altoona, daughter of the late Homer and Virgina (Noffsker) Dodson. She married Wilmer “Bud” Wertz on June 13, 1975, in Altoona, and he passed away January 15, 2009. 

Surviving are her daughters Stephanie Wertz of Altoona and Lutisha Wertz of Hollidaysburg, three grandchildren, siblings Homer “Skip” Dodson of Alabama, Linda Dodson of Tipton, and Merrill Dodson of Altoona. 

She went to Altoona Area High School, attended the Claysburg Bible Church and retired from Turkey Hill in 2020. 

At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing, and private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
