Boyd A. Shaw

Boyd A. Shaw, 88, of East Freedom, passed away Friday February 7, 2025 at UPMC – Altoona. He was born November 29, 1936, in Blue Knob, son of the late Rev. Lewis and Eleanor (Sharpless) Shaw. He married Mary R. Knotts on June 22, 1960 in Duncansville. She passed away on February 28, 2015.

Surviving are children Wade Shaw and wife Cary of Martinsburg, Brett Shaw and wife Vanessa of Claysburg, and Kelli Moore and husband Chris of Roaring Spring, grandchildren Brice, Hallie, and Blake, and siblings Barbara Young, Leona Lanzendorfer, and Shirley Walters. He was preceded in death by sister Naomi Gensemer, and brothers Robert and Wayne Shaw.

Boyd was a 1954 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1960 till 1963. He was a member of Smith Corner Independent Church and retired from Small Tube products in 1998 after 35 years of service.

Boyd sang with the Masters Trio for many years. He was active with his church and enjoyed reading and his Wednesday Morning Breakfast Buddies.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
