Carol J. Black, 82, of Claysburg, passed away Thursday March 23, 2023, at home. She was born January 10, 1941 in Claysburg, daughter of McCain and Leah L. (Dively) Weyandt. She married Thomas P. Black on May 28, 1960 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2007.
Surviving is a sister Leah Tow and husband Jerry of Charlotte, NC, a brother-in-law Roy McCarty of Cleveland, TN, godsons Jonathan Dodson and Travis Tow and special friend Suzy Dodson. She was preceded in death by a sister Linda McCarty.
Carol was a 1958 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and was employed at Sylvania. She was a member of the Claysburg Church of God.
Carol enjoyed visits from Chase, Karter and uncle Bud and spending time with her family. She also looked forward to her yearly visits from great niece Leah.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, with Pastor Jerry Tow officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Blue Knob.
