Chad D. Barnes

Chad D. Barnes, 49, of Claysburg passed away Saturday April 26, 2025 at home. He was born May 28, 1975, in Altoona, son of Leroy Barnes and the late Rita (Custer) Kephart.

Surviving is his father Leroy and significant other Judy Lightner, daughter Samantha Kreider and husband Adam of Roaring Spring, grandchildren Nora, Calvin and Lyndel, sister Carrie McCabe and husband Todd of Martindale, brother Jamie Barnes of Blue Knob, 5 nieces and 8 great nieces and nephews.

Chad was a 1993 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. He was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses, including Barnes Plaza, a cable installing business and a car transporting business. He was a member of Mt. Hope Church, Blue Knob.

Chad enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. He also enjoyed goofing off and knew how to live life to the fullest.

Friends will be received from 2:00 P.M. until the 6:00 P.M. funeral service on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at the Mt. Hope Church, Blue Knob.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given the Mt. Hope Church, Blue Knob.
