Charles C. “Duggie” Potter Jr., 83 of East Freedom, passed away Friday January 17, 2025 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born November 1, 1941, in Roaring Spring, son of the late Charles F. “Duggie” and Rhoda Mae “Dolly” (Diehl) Potter. He married Sally A. Stefanini on September 18, 1965 in Altoona.
Surviving is his wife, daughters Jodie Potter-Neely (Joseph), Julie Potter (John Lanzendorfer), Jackie Potter-Dodson (Brad), grandchildren Branson Charles Dodson and Ramsey Marie Dodson, and sisters Rosalee Condren and Lynn Stewart. He was preceded in death by brothers Danny and Thomas Potter.
Charles was a 1960 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a welding rod specialist from Norfolk Southern in 2002.
Duggie enjoyed welding, woodworking and playing drums. He was an avid Steelers fan and attended many Steeler games.
Friends will be received from 4 P.M. until the 6 P.M. memorial service on Tuesday January 21, 2025 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
