Connie L. Claycomb, 78. A resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Queen, passed away Wednesday December 18, 2024, at the home. She was born May 29, 1946, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Richard H. and Florence (Myers) Wensel. She married Jerry L. Claycomb on April 23, 1965 at Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg.
Surviving is her husband, a daughter Laura Feight of Imler, a son David Claycomb and wife Pam of Roaring Spring, 5 grandchildren Jeremy Feight, LeAndra Feight, Tyler Ferguson, Dylan Claycomb and Morgan Claycomb, a sister Mary Ellen Shirk and a brother Robert Wensel. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Wensel and a sister Shirley DeCecco.
Connie was a 1964 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. She was an active member of the Queen United Methodist Church, where she served as Treasurer for many years, the Women’s Group and helped with various other activities in the church.
She retired as a teller from First Commonwealth Bank and was previously employed at First National Bank, Lindsay, CA, Hartley Bank and Central Bank.
Connie was active in the Girl and Boy Scouts, Claysburg PTO, Lil Bulldog Wrestling, and the Bulldog Football Boosters. She enjoyed flowers, birds, cooking, baking, sewing, water skiing, and music, especially Elvis. Her favorite times were spent with family, and attending every event in which her grandchildren participated.
Friends will be received on Friday December 20, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and Saturday December 21, 2024 from noon until the 1:00 P.M. funeral service at the Queen United Methodist Church, 1379 Beaverdam Rd., Queen, PA 16670., Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating. Interment at Imler Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
