Della “Sis” Whysong, 96, of Imler, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at home. She was born on June 1, 1929, in Queen, daughter of the late Melvin and Jeannette (Burket) Claar. She married Robert W. Whysong May 15, 1954, and he passed away January 4, 2021.
She was the second mom to many and is survived by many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Jack M. and Melvin “Tommy” Claar.
Sis was a 1947 graduate of Claysburg High School, and a member of Mt. Zion Church in Pavia.
Her husband owned and operated Bob’s Used Cars in Duncansville from 1952 till 2021, where she assisted him but was primarily a homemaker and worked at Sylvania for a few years.
She volunteered at Nason Hospital Snack Bar for many years.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing and private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband Bob at the Pavia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Mt. Zion Church, Pavia.
