Donald E. Dodson

Donald E. Dodson, 83, of East Freedom, passed away Thursday December 2, 2021 at home. He was born April 12, 1938 in Altoona, son of the late Henry M. and Grace E. (Stiffler) Dodson. He married Barbara Burket on July 19, 1959 in Claysburg.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, a son Jeffrey Dodson and wife Holly of Roaring Spring, a daughter Sherry Hinton and husband Jeff of Roaring Spring, four granddaughters Heather Dickson (Russell), Heidi Smith (Ron), Taylor Ritchey (Joe) and Regan Dodson, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two daughters Jacquelyn and Lori Dodson, two sisters Helen Corle and Gladys Yingling and a brother Robert H. Dodson.

Donald was a 1956 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. He retired as an assistant foreman from F. L. Smithe Machine Company after 36 years of service.

Don loved the Lord and was a member of Grace Fellowship Church-Leamersville Campus. He enjoyed camping and was a Steelers, Penn State and Dale Earnhardt fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially watching his granddaughters play sports.

Friends will be received on Saturday December 4, 2021, from noon until the 2:00 P.M. funeral service at the Grace Fellowship Church-Leamersville Campus, 14 Brethren Lane, Duncansville, PA 16635 with Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Grace Fellowship Church-Leamersville Campus Building Fund.
