Donald D. Hammel

Donald D. Hammel, 74, of Claysburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday August 22, 2021. He was born May 12, 1947 in Claysburg, son of the late Earl and Effie (Lane) Hammel. He married Louella I. Sickenberger on September 11, 1967 in West Virginia.

Surviving is his wife, a son Jeffrey Hammel of Claysburg, daughters Lisa Hammel of Claysburg and Patricia Glass (Tim) of East Freedom, grandchildren Amber Metcalf, Destiny and Briana Harr and Lauren Hammel, great grandchildren Rosealynn and Justin Metcalf, brothers Carl and Robert Hammel and a sister Mary Mock. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kylie Marie Musselman and several brothers and sisters.

Donald was employed at several shoe factories in the area and also did landscaping. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, his chickens and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 2 P.M. until the 6:00 P.M. memorial service at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg with Pastor James Neatrour officiating.
