Donald “Jake” C. Dodson

Donald C. “Jake” Dodson, 79, of Claysburg, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2023. He was born December 7, 1943 in Claysburg, son of Thomas and Mildred (Claar) Dodson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Susan “Susie” Socie, son Tommy Dodson and brothers John and Charles Dodson.

Surviving is a sister Mary Ellen Judd, family members Debbie (Gary) Noel, Gary (Holly) Noel, Dave (Karen) Socie, Donna May and Gavin Boslet and many nieces and nephews.

Jake served in the US army and retired from the Sproul Brickyard. He loved spending time outdoors and chatting up the locals at Jody’s Garage and around town.

Friends will be received from 2 P.M. until the 4:00 P.M. memorial service on Friday October 13, 2023 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Pastor Tim Bartholomew officiating. Following the service, there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Beaver Dam Rod and Gun Club from 5-7 P.M.
