Dorothy H. Eicher

Dorothy H. Eicher, 97, of Altoona, passed away Friday December 15, 2023 at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 1, 1926, in Queen, daughter of the late Myrle and Maude (Walter) Eicher.

Surviving is a sister Joan Housel of Claysburg, 9 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Lorraine Helsel and Louise Crilly.

Dorothy was a 1944 graduate of Greenfield Township High School and a 1946 graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce.

She was employed for 42 years as a secretary and bookkeeper for Caum Engineering Corporation, retiring in 1988.

Dorothy was a member of the Altoona Bible Church and was involved with the Missionary Aides and Christian Friends.

She enjoyed crafting, sewing and genealogy.

Friends will be received from noon until the 2:00 P.M. funeral service on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg with Pastors Aaron Harris and Stewart McClelland officiating. Interment at Greenfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Altoona Bible Church Missionary Fund.

The family would like to thank Integrity Home Care, Home Instead, the Staff at Hilltop and Family Hospice for the care Dorothy received for the last several years.
