Dorothy M. Swaney

Dorothy M. Swaney, 62, of Altoona, passed away after an extended illness, on Friday October 1, 2021 at UPMC-Altoona. She was born February 3, 1959 in Altoona, daughter of the late Billie and Margaret (McGarvey) Miller. She married Elmer Swaney on April 25, 1988 in Altoona and he preceded her in death on June 26, 2014.

Surviving is a daughter Wendy Yohn (Rod), with whom she resided, two sons William Strunk and Jamie (Jess) Strunk, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Strunk and a son John Michael Strunk.

Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, watching the Hallmark Channel, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her dog “Scruffy”.

Friends will be received from 4:00 P.M. until the 7:00 P.M. funeral service on Wednesday 6, 2021 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg with Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the family.
