Dorothy “Dot” M. Summers

Dorothy M. “Dot” Summers, 64, of Claysburg, passed away Wednesday Aug. 31, 2022 at UPMC-Altoona. She was born April 25, 1958 in Lehighton, PA daughter of Richard and Ann (Rogers) Pennell.  She married Jeff Summer on Feb. 16, 1980 in Jim Thorpe, Pa.

Surviving are her mother, husband, children Rebecca Clapper (Ryan) of Bedford and Matt Summers of Claysburg, grandchildren McKenzie and Dakota Clapper, Malia Wond, and Alivia Summers, sisters Terri Heigl (Tom) and Barb Murphy (Pat). She was preceded in death by her father.

Dot was a graduate of Thompson Institute of Technology. She retired as an aid for Students with Multiple Disabilities from IU8 at Hollidaysburg.  Dot was a member of the St. Thomas Moore Church. She was a member of the Claysburg Community Theater. She enjoyed baking, traveling, and being a fulltime grandmother.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
