Dwayne W. Claar

Dwayne W. Claar, 92, of Claysburg, passed away Tuesday April 29, 2025 at home. He was born January 6, 1933, in Claysburg, son of the late Russell L. and Irene (Claar) Claar. He married Donna J. Smith June 20, 1956 in Cumberland, MD.

Surviving is his wife, a son David Claar (Nicole), a grandson Jordan Claar (Tiffany), 2 granddaughters, Brittney, and Emmeline Claar, 4 great grandchildren Vivian, Charlene, Emelia and Lochlan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son Terry Alan Claar and a brother Samuel Wade Claar.

Dwayne was a 1952 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was employed at Richard Nicodemus Construction, Champion Homes Road Crew and Black’s Mobile Home, retiring in 1995.

Dwayne was a life member of the Smoky Run Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed shooting trap and woodworking projects.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
