Earl L. Barnett, 86, of Imler, formerly of Claysburg, passed away Tuesday February 22, 2022 at Magee Womens Hospital of UPMC. He was born January 6, 1936, in Punxsutawney, son of the late Dale and Jessie (Graffis) Barnett. He married Jo Ann McAnnughey on June 12, 1954. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2016.
Surviving are three daughters Joy (Terry) Smith, Patty (Melvin) Claycomb and Sally (Stan) Herline, two sons Doug (Kim) Barnett and Dan Barnett, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his fiancée Lucy Long, with whom he resided, and a brother Terry Barnett.
Earl was a 1954 graduate of Punxsutawney High School. He served in the National Guard and was V.P. of Sales for the James Austin Company for 45 years. He was a member of the Claysburg Church of God and always helped others. He enjoyed camping, campfires, old cars and spending time with his family.
Earl was a loving and giving person.
A celebration of Earl’s life will be held at a later date.
