Ellen C. Hammel

Ellen C. Hammel, 82, of Roaring Spring, passed away Tuesday March 21, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1941 in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Harold C. and Ellen C. (Bender) Mutton. She married Carl R. Hammel Sr., on May 23, 1959 in Angola, NY.

Surviving is her husband of Roaring Spring, 6 children Carl R. Hammel Jr. (Tina) of Inwood, WV, Michael D. Hammel (Nicole) of Bedford, Frederick C. Hammel (Tammy) of Carlisle, Lynn Marie Weitzel (Dale) of Martinsburg, WV, James E. Hammel (Michelle) of Charleston, SC and Melissa A. Burket (Jay) of Duncansville, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 sisters Lucille Swanson of Clifton Springs, NY and Georgia Migas (Michael) of Stephenson, VA.

Ellen was a stay at home mom and enjoyed playing Bingo, cards and board games with her family, fishing and plastic canvas art. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

A private service will be held by the family, at a later date.
