Fredrick W. Carn, 67, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Claysburg went home to start his eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at home.
He was born February 21, 1958 in Altoona, the oldest son of the late Herbert P. and Lois E. (Delozier) Carn.
Surviving are a brother Wayne (Jannie) and children Ethan, Jacob, Ellie, and Jack, and a brother Brian (Beth) and children Lauren (Brett) Thackara, Melissa, Timothy, great nephew Marshall and great niece Noelle Thackara.
Fred was a 1976 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. He started working at the Claysburg Pizza Shop in 1973 and left when he graduated. He started his 30 year career in the engineering department of WTAJ-TV in January 1976. He also owned a bakery and chocolate business for 16 years. He retired in June 2012 due to medical problems.
He was a 60 plus year member of Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church, Hollidaysburg, where he served as Deacon. He broadcasted the morning worship live every Sunday. He also took care of the church lighting and sound. Fred loved his church.
He enjoyed international travel. He also enjoyed taking care of his many acres of land of which he was the 5th generation owner on his mother’s side of the family. He found enjoyment is gardening, electronic, magic, building, electrical, plumbing work, and many other things.
Fred wants everyone to know, family and friends, although he didn’t talk with you on a regular basis, he loved and cared for each of you and prayed for you daily.
Fred’s memorial service will be held at the Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church, 335 Reservoir Road, Hollidaysburg, on Saturday, July 26 at 11 AM with Pastor and friend Kenneth Beichler presiding. Internment in Claysburg Union Cemetery.
