George Edward “Butch” Weyandt, 73, of Claysburg, passed away Friday December 20, 2024 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born on February 9, 1951, in Roaring Spring, son of the late Elwood Weyandt and Catherine Virginia Bouymaster. He married Sharon Kuhn on July 14, 1973 in Osterburg.
Surviving is his wife Sharon, daughter Tracy Cranford and husband Brian, son George Weyandt Jr. and wife Kayla, six grandchildren, siblings Gary Weyandt, Terry Lee Weyandt, Cathy Joy Weyandt, Galen Lynn, Eric Lynn, and Francis “Pinky” Hechler.
Butch was in the US Army and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He retired from McLanahan Corporation in Hollidaysburg, and worked 39 years at Madden Boiler Works in Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, mushroom hunting, singing, and getting the grandchildren involved in these actives.
Friends will be received on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 1 PM until the 3 PM funeral service at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Claysburg with Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating. Interment at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
