James "Jim" K. Phelan

James K. Phelan, 55, of Claysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday June 25, 2025 at home. He was born March 8, 1970 in Altoona, son of the late Linda J. Rabenstein. On May 26, 2016, in Altoona, he married Jennifer Smith, who preceded him in death on August 22, 2024.

Surviving is 3 children Nick Werner, Alexis Phelan and Elena Phelan-Hernandez, 2 step children Jessilyn and John O’Neill, 2 sisters Cynthia Venesky and Kristy Harr and his best friend Pat.

Jim was a 1989 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was employed for over 20 years as a supervisor and production worker at Blair Signs.

He attended New Life Worship Center, Altoona and enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, sports and his dogs “Izzy” and “Rusty”.

Friends will be received from 4-6 P.M. on Wednesday July 2, 2025 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.

A meal will be provided at the Greenfield/Claysburg Community Center, 122 Senior Drive, Claysburg, following the services at the funeral home.
