Janet L. Knisely

Janet L. Knisely, 86, of Claysburg, passed away Sunday November 7, 2021 at home. She was born November 17, 1934 in Portage, daughter of the late Milton and Josephine (Mills) Hinkledire. She married Fred H. Knisely on June 27, 1952 in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2015.

Surviving is a sister-in-law Anna Mae Hinkledire and her children Jason and Kelly, numerous nieces and nephews including David Knisely Sr. and Jr. and her church family. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers Harold, Cecil “Bert”, James and Milton.

Janet was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, where she helped with church activities. She was a 1952 graduate of Bedford High School. Janet retired from Hollidaysburg Picture Frames and was previously employed at Sylvania for 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Friday November 12, 2021 at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, 1486 Quaker Valley Road, New Paris. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 13, 2021 at the church with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating. Interment at Greenfield Cemetery.
