John T. Houp, 42, of Dysart, passed away Saturday March 15, 2025. He was born September 20, 1982, son of Donna (Lemin) Dick and the late Thomas “Tinker” Houp.
Surviving are four children, Emily Weitzel, Mackenzie Fayson, Elizabeth Houp and Trenton Frye, five siblings George Detwiler, Ann Thomas, Cindy Wolfe, Maxine Wert and Frank Dick Jr. and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by a brother Jared Houp.
John was employed as a truck driver for Sel-Lo Oil for the past three years. He was previously employed as a cable installer for Figure 8 Communications, Inc.
John enjoyed working on cars, riding his motorcycle, being outside with his kids and acting like a kid. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone that needed help.
Friends will be received from noon until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday March 22, 2025 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
