Karin  S. Socie

Karin S. Socie, 79, of East Freedom, passed away Wednesday February 28, 2024 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. She was born December 12, 1944 in East Freedom, daughter of the late Donald R. and Grace M. (Yingling) Burns. She married Joseph L. Socie and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1989.

Surviving is a daughter, Becky Herron and companion Joe Socie Jr.; five grandchildren: Alicia, Melony, Jason, Kohlton and Kiki; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Letty Riley; and a brother, Russell Burns.

She was a 1961 graduate of Central High School and was employed as a hostess at Cracker Barrel.

Karin loved spending time with family and friends. 

Friends will be received from 5 P.M. until the 7:00 P.M. memorial service on Tuesday March 5, 2024 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Pastor Rodney Ingram officiating. Inurnment at Alto-Reste Park Mausoleum.
