Mable B. Cooper

Mable B. Cooper, 97, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Friday January 13, 2023 at the home. She was born April 23, 1925 in Wesleyville, daughter of the late Gustav and Mary Margaret (Norcross) Erickson. She married John F. Cooper on April 29, 1949 in Wesleyville. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2011.

Surviving is a daughter Sabrina Louise Cooper-Brickner and husband Robert of Altoona, two step grandchildren Violet and Cole Brickner and special caregivers Pam Steele and Kaylee Goldsworthy. She was preceded in death by two sisters Martha McFadden and Dorothy Tillich and two brothers Carl Erickson and George Parsons.

Mable was a member of Altoona Restoration Church of God. She was employed at Erie Transistor, Loungeray and TriTex.

Mable served as President of Civil Defense in Erie. She enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her family and dog “Oscar” and making Mom’s Din Din facebook videos for her son-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday January 22, 2023 at the Altoona Restoration Church of God, 911 N. 3rd Street, Altoona, PA 16601 with Pastor Steve Brumbaugh officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to her church of the Central PA Humane Society 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona PA 16602.
