Mary M. Bowen

Mary M. Bowen, 85, of Altoona, passed away Thursday August 11, 2022 at UPMC- Altoona. She was born April 8, 1937, in Altoona, daughter of the late George and Margaret (Stiver) Zeak. She married Lester Bowen on October 10, 2001 in Warren, Ohio.

Surviving is her husband, her children; Dennis “Whitey” Weyandt, Brenda Clapper, Shanda Clayton, Lisa Weyandt, Robert Bowen, and Jodi Champlin, as well as 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and her half-brother David Mann Jr. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Deborah Weyandt, a son Kenneth Weyandt, a brother Ronald Zeak, and a sister Jeanette Wheeler.

Mary attended Hollidaysburg High School, and was primarily a homemaker who worked various jobs. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, animals, going out to eat, and especially spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 3:00 P.M. until the 6:00 P.M. funeral service on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 480 Emmanuel Dr. Claysburg, PA 16625, with Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
