Mary M. Strayer

Mary M. Strayer, 85, of Claysburg, passed away Sunday March 5, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. She was born August 9, 1937 in Altoona, daughter of the late Harry A. and Eleanor M. (Hess) Hammel. She married Robert V. Strayer Sr. on January 12, 1957 in Roaring Spring. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1999.

Surviving is a daughter Debby Strayer (Bob), two sons Allen Strayer and Lloyd (Sandy)Strayer, 5 grandchildren Crockett, Lauren, Elizabeth, Michele and Mark and a great grandson Landon. She was preceded in death by a son Robert V. Strayer Jr, a great grandson Tyler Strayer and 5 siblings.

Mary was a member of the American Legion and Allegheny Club, Hollidaysburg. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and going on trips with her daughter.

Friends will be received from noon until the 2:00 P.M. funeral service, on Friday March 10, 2023, at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg with Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
