N. Arlene (Ickes) Lindsey, 91, of Osterburg, passed away Thursday July 25, 2024 at home. She was born January 17, 1933 in Pavia, daughter of the late Shannon and Elva (Claar) Ickes. She married Harold Lee Lindsey on June 18, 1952 in Pavia. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2006.
Surviving is a daughter Rhonda Stauffer and companion Henry Miller of Ebensburg, a son Jeff Lindsey and wife Dawn of Osterburg, a grandson Brinnan Stauffer and wife Tiffany, her grand puppies Amy Lou, Tucker, Zoey and Payton and her grand kitties Foot, Inky, Sissy, Torry and Baby. She was preceded in death by a brother Leland Whysong and a grand kitty Lovey.
Arlene was a 1951 graduate of Bedford High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed square dancing, camping, and cooking and was famous for her homemade coleslaw.
Arlene enjoyed going to her son Jeff’s softball games, her grandson Brinnan’s baseball games and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan.
Friends will be received on Sunday July 28, 2024 from 1-3 and 6-8 P.M. at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom.
Funeral services will be held at Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom on Monday July 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment at Imler Valley cemetery.
