Nevin Samuel Sollenberger, 81, of Claysburg passed away Tuesday December 6, 2022 at home, following a lengthy battle with COPD. He was born August 20, 1941, in Roaring Spring, son of the late Oliver Park and Edith (Criswell) Sollenberger. On November 23, 1967, he married Janet Diehl.
Surviving is his wife, 2 children Cynthia (Donald) Stiver and Scott (Dana) Sollenberger, 4 grandchildren Zachary and Westley Stiver and Haden and Madison Sollenberger and brothers-in-law Alfred Diehl and Donald Irvin. He was preceded in death by a sister Donna Irvin on February 16, 2022.
Nevin was a 1960 graduate of Williamsburg High School and joined the US Navy following graduation. He was a master electrician and worked for Blair Electric Service Co. his entire career, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Claysburg American Legion and enjoyed woodworking.
Friends will be received from 1:00 P.M. until the 3:00 P.M. memorial service on Sunday December 11, 2022 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Pastor Tim Guyer officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Claysburg Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 292, Claysburg, PA 16625.
