Richard L. Cooper, 77, of Osterburg, passed away Monday March 14, 2022 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born January 21, 1945 in Altoona, son of the late William S. and Helen M. (Noel) Cooper. He married Kathleen J. Claycomb on May 1, 1971 in Claysburg.
Surviving is his wife, three sons Kevin L. Cooper of Bedford, Kurtis L. and Richard A. Cooper both of Osterburg, two grandchildren Joseph and Kelly Cooper, four great grandchildren and three sisters Cecilia Keckler, Barbara Cooper and Linda Lang. He was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Cooper.
Richard was a 1962 graduate of Altoona Area High School and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He retired from the shipping department of Hedstrom Industries and was previously employed as a truck driver and at Cove Shoe.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Thursday March 17, 2022 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday March 18, 2022 at the funeral home, with Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
