Richard E. Weyant, 84, of Claysburg, passed away Saturday October 12, 2024 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born September 16, 1940, son of the late Ira and Jeanne (Walter) Weyant.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Barbara (Musselman) Weyant, and his four children Bruce (Leslie), Noel and Joel Weyant, and Elaine (Brian) Claar. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, who he was very proud of. He was preceded in death by his grandson Jeremy Weyant and siblings Karen Snively, A. Clyde Weyant and Gerald Weyant.
Richard was a 1958 graduate of Greenfield – Kimmel High School and a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren.
Richard proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force. He traveled the world as a Meteorologist. He was always looking to the sky.
He loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors in nature. Richard also loved animals, especially his outdoor cats.
Friends will be received on Sunday October 20, 2024 from 12:30 until the 2:00 P.M. funeral service at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Mark Wyland officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
