Robert D. Walters, 79, of Hollidaysburg, gained his heavenly home, on Saturday January 24, 2026. He was born August 9, 1946, in Roaring Spring, son of the late Elvin and Margaret (Burket) Walters. On February 14, 1998, he married his wife of 27 years, L. Susan Olivo. They enjoyed hiking in the Quehanna Wilderness and their many trips to Williamsburg, VA. He was an amazing caregiver, to her, throughout her illness.
Surviving is his wife, a son Dale A. Walters (Tina) of Roaring Spring, daughters Angela D. Ritchey (Michael) of Curryville, Pamela A. Douglas (Dusty) of Everett, and Amy M. McGarvey (Adam) of Curryville, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister Carole Chappell of Red Lion and a brother Larry Walters of Claysburg.
Bob was a 1964 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and served in the U.S. Army, during Vietnam.
He was a member of the Claysburg Bible Church. His main ministry was putting music together for the Sunday morning and evening messages, as well as music for the Homewood ministry. He was always the last to leave church because he was always talking to someone and sharing the wisdom he gained throughout his life.
Bob was employed as a route salesman at Agway from 1972 until 1997. He then owned and operated Cove Farm Supply and Burget’s Hardware until his retirement.
Bob played Cove Men’s Fast Pitch Softball for many years. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors, gardening, cruise ins and car shows, and visiting residents at Homewood and his many friends.
Friends will be received from 2 P.M. until the 6 P.M. funeral service on Thursday January 29, 2026, at the Claysburg Bible Church, 11751 William Penn Road, Imler PA 16655, with Pastor Keith Showalter officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to his church.
