Roger A. Claycomb, 82, of Claysburg, passed away Saturday July 6, 2024 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1941, in Claysburg, son of the late Glen W. and Margaret (Musselman) Claycomb. He married Doris Hengst on May 17, 1968 in New Paris.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Doris Claycomb, a son Ira A. Claycomb and wife Sherry of Mercersburg, and 3 sisters Joan Mellott, Darlene Closson and Lisa Claycomb. He was preceded in death by and infant daughter Brenda Denise Claycomb and a brother Dale A. Claycomb Sr.
Roger was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, Osterburg. He was a 1959 graduate of Replogle High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1966. He retired as a mechanic from Burchfield’s in Martinsburg after 30 years of service.
Roger was a member and Past Master of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #320, Bedford Royal Arch Chapter #255, Past Grand Tall of the Bedford Tall Cedar #167, Widow’s Sons Masonic Riders, PA Faithful Defenders Chapter, Bedford American Legion Post 113, and Fort Bedford VFW Post 7527.
Roger enjoyed hunting, reloading shells, riding his motorcycle, and sitting on the back porch.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Thursday July 11, 2024 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. where Masonic services will be held at 7:30 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday July 12, 2024 at the funeral home with Pastor Charlie Miller officiating. Interment at Imler Valley Cemetery.
