Ronald R. Sell, 88, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Claysburg passed away on Friday April 11, 2025, at the home. He was born September 5, 1936, in Sproul, son of the late Arthur R. “Jug” and Ethel G. (Gordon) Sell.
Surviving are three children; Rona (Sell) Long of Celina Ohio, Steven Sell of Decatur Indiana, and Kimberly (Sell) Theys of Hollidaysburg, siblings Ellen Elaine Smith of Elizabethtown, Linda Wodzak husband Tom of Elysburg, Joyce A. Musselman husband George, and Larry “Pork” Sell, both of Claysburg. 9 grandchildren: Josh, Jake, Andy, Dillon, Zach, Brandon, Josiah, Daniel, and Adele, and 15 great grandchildren.
Ronald was a 1954 graduate of Greenfield Kimmel High School, in the US Army from 1955 till 1957, member of the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, Fort Bedford VFW, Bedford Moose Lodge 480, Blair County Genealogical Society, Claysburg Legion, and the Bedford Elks Country Club.
Ronald retired in 1998 from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 5, Pittsburgh, after 29 years of service as an electrician.
He cherished time spent with his family, pouring his creativity into writing music and poems. He enjoyed traveling, was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football. Additionally, he found great joy learning his ancestry through genealogy.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with Pastor Brad Runkle officiating. Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
