Rosella H. Bridges, 93, a resident of Pennknoll Village, formerly of East Freedom, passed away Sunday March 24, 2024 at the home. She was born January 2, 1931 in Osterburg, daughter of the late Warren and Sue (Claycomb) Hengst. She married George A. “Skees” Bridges on June 17, 1950 in Osterburg and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2004.
Surviving is a son Josh, a sister Ruth Ann Bowser, four grandchildren Tricia, Wally, Tommy and Jacob and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Dianna Mock, sons Gary and Allen Bridges, grandsons Terry Bridges and Joe Mock, and three brothers H. Merle, Irvin and Elmer Hengst.
Rosella was a 1949 graduate of Claysburg High School. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Imler, where she was active in church activities. She was primarily a homemaker but was also employed at Warnaco.
Rosella enjoyed attending the Southern Blair Senior Center and spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until the noon funeral service on Friday March 29, 2024 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Imler with Pastor James Neatrour and Mr. Jonathan Yoder officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
