Sandy, formerly of Queen, PA went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2022 dying of cancer with her family by her side. She was born on August 17, 1949 in Roaring Spring, the daughter of Robert S. and Donna L. (Noffsker) Burket of Queen, PA

 

 


Sandy was married to J. Dennis Schultz and had two children, Dr. Brian R.E. Schultz of Washington, DC with Beth Carella. A daughter, Amy Lynne Schultz Hatley and husband, Jack reside in Mt. Lebanon, PA. She has two beautiful grandchildren, Leo Crawford Hatley and Scout Elisabeth Lynne Hatley.

 

 


On December 27, 1991 Sandy married Richard E. Allison in Bullhead City, AZ. They lived in Peters Township, Washington County from 1990 to 2007 raising their two beautiful children before moving back to the family farm in Claysburg, PA in 2007.

 

 


Sandy is survived by a brother Tim Burket (Kathy) of Queen, PA and an aunt Louise (Edward Noffsker, deceased) of Hollidaysburg, PA. She is also survived by a sister in law, Sally Weyant (Jack, deceased) of Joppa, MD. She has many nieces and nephews that she loved and considered them as her children.

 

 


She was a 1967 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. She then graduated from Altoona Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1970 as a registered nurse. Sandy was a member of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She worked 40+ years across the state as a registered nurse.

 

 


Sandy helped to plan and assist with Claysburg area fund raising and to plan events especially for the Claysburg Education Foundation and Claysburg PAST. Sandy and Richard also worked with the Salvation Army fund raising. For many years she helped with the Red Cross Blood draws in the area. She was also a former member of the Claysburg-Kimmel Alumni Association.

 

 


Sandy especially enjoyed family time with Richard and their children, Brian and Amy and family and especially the grandchildren, Leo and Scout.

 

 


Sandy’s hobbies were travel which she did extensively, music - piano and clarinet, genealogy, cooking, baking and writing several cookbooks. She was known as part of the team hosting major picnic and party events at their Allison Farm. Sandy and Rich were National Tailgate Champs for their cooking with the National Honey Association. Sandy was a lover of all animals, but especially cats.

 

 


Sandy was a member of the Queen United Methodist Church but attended church with her husband at the Lower Claar Church of the Brethren.

 

 


Visitation will be Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Lower Claar Church of the Brethren, 1044 Lower Claar Road, Claysburg, PA 16625 with Rev. John Winesickle officiating.

 

 


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in “Memory of Sandy Allison” to the Blair or Bedford County Humane Societies.
