Sharon Lynn Black, 71, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday October 15, 2021. She was born October 26, 1949 in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Wilbur G. and Erdeine (Weaver) Boyer. She married John W. Black Jr. and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2014.
Surviving is a daughter Deborah Wood and husband Jim, three grandchildren Gunnar James, Briar Rose and Ember Annalynne Wood, her twin sister Sandy Walter and husband Rob and their family Christa Walter and Taiylor Diven, Shannon, Todd, Cassidy, Sidney and David Barrick and a brother Steve Boyer and wife Betty Lou and their family Stacy Boyer, JR Boyer, Casey and Cody.
Sharon was a member of the Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church. She was a 1968 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and was employed at Butterick until it’s closing in 2002.
Sharon’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday October 21, 2021 at the Foot of Ten Independent Baptist Church with Pastor David Huston officiating. Interment at St. Mark’s Cemetery, King.
