Wayne R. Berkhimer

Wayne R. Berkhimer, 102 of Duncansville, passed away Sunday June 26, 2022 at Homewood at Martinsburg. He was born October 5, 1919 in Roaring Spring, son of the late Ross and Esther (Rhodes) Berkhimer. He married Ruth E. Shaw on November 15, 1946 in Cumberland, MD. She preceded him in death on August 10, 2010.

Surviving are two daughters Linda Berkhimer and Carol Smith and a granddaughter Rachel Smith. He was preceded in death by a sister Joanne Brooks and a son-in-law Steven Smith.

Wayne was a 1937 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School and served in the U.S Army during WWII. He retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company in 1979 after more than 30 years of employment. He was a member of First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring.

Friends will be received from 2 P.M. until the 4:00 P.M. funeral service on Tuesday June 28, 2022 at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom, Pastor Daniel Hammel officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
