Wayne P. Hoenstine, 70, of Claysburg, passed away Tuesday December 27, 2022 at UPMC-Shadyside. He was born September 30, 1952 in Roaring Spring, son of the late Alton Paul and Daisie (Wright) Hoenstine. He married Mary Harr on December 20, 1975 at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren.
Surviving is his wife, a daughter Tina Hoenstine and companion Tyler Glass, a son Paul Hoenstine and wife Deanna, a step son Donnie Dibert III, 4 grandchildren Haileigh Reed, Kyler and Riley Hoenstine and Caliegh Dibert, a sister Violet Key and his beloved dog “Sofie”. He was preceded in death by a brother Karl Hoenstine.
Wayne was a 1970 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. He retired from Wal-Mart and had previously worked at Wright Milling Company for 26 years.
Wayne was a member of the Beaver Dam Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, NASCAR, the Pirates and Steelers, snowmobiling and watching Haileigh’s softball games.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. on Monday January 2, 2023 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday January 3, 2023 at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jerry Jackson officiating. Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
