Wilbur J. Cavender, 91, of Claysburg, passed away Saturday December 17, 2022 at home. He was born August 20, 1931 in Roaring Spring, son of the late James M. and Edna P. (Diehl) Cavender. He married Nancy Walter on January 19, 1952 and she preceded him in death on December 21, 2016.
Surviving is a daughter Tracy Dehoff and three grandchildren Michelle Webb (Jeff), Peter Dehoff and Matthew Dehoff (Laura). He was preceded in death by a son Michael E. Cavender on April 11, 2017.
Wilbur was a 1949 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He was then employed as a parts manager at Zeigler Chevrolet, Northrop Air Corporation and retired as a corrections officer from S.C.I. Cresson in 1997.
Wilbur enjoyed traveling with his wife, when he was in the military and when he was employed at Northrop, and spending time with his family.
Private services will held at the convenience of the family.
