William D. Mock, 92, of Osterburg, formerly of Claysburg, passed away Tuesday May 5, 2026, at home. He was born February 8, 1934, in Everett, son of the late James A. and Fern E. (Redinger) Mock. He married Shirley A. Berkey on May 25, 1953, in Cumberland, MD. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2025.
Surviving is a son Duane Mock (Judy) of Claysburg, daughters Diane Oakes (Joe) of Roaring Spring, Darsha Pate (Larry) of Bennettsville, SC and Fran DeShazo-Mock of Hope Mills, NC and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Donnie Mock and a brother James Mock.
William attended Greenfield-Kimmel High School. He retired as a self-employed truck driver and was previously employed at the brickyard and the shoe factory.
He was a member of the Bedford and Tri Valley Sportsman Clubs and enjoyed hunting and shooting. He also enjoyed assisting his wife with craft shows, going to auctions, spending time outdoors, his two dogs, and watching his grandkids at their sporting events.
The family would like to thank the UPMC-Family Hospice team, especially Lori, Jada and Pastor Tim.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
